The current situation in the plastic industry
In the eyes of industry professionals, plastic and plastic are one thing. Previously, domestic factories were called plastic factories, while in Hong Kong and Taiwan, plastic factories were referred to as plastic companies. At present, some domestic foreign-funded enterprises also hang the brand of “Plastic” Co., Ltd. for the convenience of communication with foreign companies. It cannot be literally understood as plastic and rubber.
Plastic is widely used and is an indispensable component in household appliances, automobiles, mobile phones, PCs, medical devices, and lighting appliances. With the sustained and stable growth of China’s economy, industries such as home appliances, automobiles, mobile phones, PCs, and medical devices have benefited from a favorable external environment and achieved rapid development. The development of downstream industries has further driven the demand for plastics. In 2010, there were 2286 enterprises in China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry, a year-on-year increase of 24.54%; The sales revenue reached 106.125 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.38%.
During the 12th Five Year Plan period, downstream industries such as automobiles, home appliances, consumer electronics, and medical devices in China will continue to develop rapidly. The demand for plastic parts in these industries will continue to expand, and the demand will also show a trend towards high-end and precision. It is expected that during the 12th Five Year Plan period, the sales scale of China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry will reach 170 billion yuan. According to a survey by China Investment Corporation, the technological innovation capability of China’s plastic parts manufacturing industry has been further enhanced, and the number of enterprise technology research and development centers continues to increase; The industrial structure, enterprise structure, and product structure are constantly adjusting, and the industrial intensity is gradually upgrading; The overall advantages of the industry have been further enhanced and strengthened, and the gap with developed countries internationally is gradually narrowing. In some aspects, it has reached the world’s advanced level and entered a critical period of sustainable development from a major country to an advanced strong country. The plastic parts manufacturing industry in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places is flourishing, with leading positions in both the number of enterprises and the scale of production and sales in the country. The regional concentration of the industry is relatively high. At the same time, domestic enterprises have also achieved rapid development, and the strength of industry-leading enterprises has further strengthened. However, at the same time, advanced foreign enterprises are also optimistic about the domestic market and are gradually increasing their investment efforts. The entry of multinational companies such as Nipro, Herbie International Group, and Anelli Group has made the competition in the industry more intense.
Plastic parts are widely used in every field of life today, such as household appliances, instruments and meters, wires and cables, building equipment, communication electronics, automotive industry, aerospace, daily hardware, etc.
